- The New Mexico Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) began this effort following the signing of Senate Bill 88 by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in March 2024. This legislation authorized the MVD to develop and issue electronic driver’s licenses and IDs at no additional cost to residents.
