Contributing to mDL Connection

We welcome content contributions from our members and non-members.

Please read the guidelines for contributing to ensure your submission meets Secure Technology Alliance requirements. To get started, fill out the form below the guidelines.

Guidelines for Contributing Content to mDLConnection:

  • The Secure Technology Alliance will accept content for the mDLConnection Knowledge Center and implementation tracker from both Secure Technology Alliance members and non-members.
  • It is critical mDLConnection serve as a neutral forum. Knowledge Center submissions should be non-self-promotional and vendor-neutral, with the sole purpose of educating the wide range of audiences mDLs will support. It is acceptable for these to include your organization logo and to have a brief mention of your organization’s efforts/products.
  • Content may be submitted to be posted directly on the site, or you may submit an abstract of the content with a link to the resource on your website. Types of content to be published in the Knowledge Center may include:
    • White papers, industry best practices, case studies, webinar recordings and other educational content in a variety of formats.
    • Use case videos, animations, and infographics to support overall awareness and education.
    • Information regarding a state’s/province’s/jurisdiction’s mDL implementation status is of particular interest and priority. This will help update the website’s implementation tracker map, which shows the current stage of implementation in each state.
  • Secure Technology Alliance members and mDL Initiative participants may also submit company or industry news about mDLs, which may be self-promotional. This content will help keep mDLConnection fresh and relevant and will be published in the website’s news feeds. We may also share these on our Twitter (@SecureTechOrg) and LinkedIn (Secure Technology Alliance) and encourage you to tag us and share from your own social channels as well.
  • All content will be reviewed by Alliance staff before publishing to ensure it meets Alliance submission requirements.

Submission FAQs for Contributing Content to mDLConnection:

How can I contribute to mDLConnection?

There are two areas for contributions – the Knowledge Center and the industry news feeds.

    • The mDLConnection Knowledge Center is an online library for resources related to learning about and implementing mobile driver’s licenses in the U.S. and Canada. We encourage and accept contributed content that supports this mission from both Secure Technology Alliance members and non-members. It is essential the mDLConnection serve as a neutral forum.

We ask that all Knowledge Center submissions be non-self-promotional and vendor-neutral, with the sole purpose to educate audiences on mDLs.

    • The second option for Secure Technology Alliance members and Alliance mDL Initiative participants is to submit industry news. This may include company announcements and other vendor-specific news related to mDLs. We will share some of this news on our social channels, including Twitter (@SecureTechOrg) and LinkedIn (Secure Technology Alliance). We encourage you to share these posts to your own social network and tag us, utilizing #mDL, the most widely used hashtag on the topic.

What type of content will you accept for the Knowledge Center?

We will publish white papers, industry best practices, case studies, webinar recordings and other educational content. We will not publish advertisements, product information or any other content solely intended to promote a company or its products and/or services.

Content may be published in two ways. You may submit content for us to post directly on the site, or you may submit an abstract of the content with a link to the resource on your web site.

If you are interested in contributing to the Knowledge Center, please review the remainder of our Submission FAQs below, and submit your resource or content to [email protected].

What type of content will you accept for the Industry News Feed?

We will publish Secure Technology Alliance member and mDL Initiative participant company news or industry news about mDLs, which may be self-promotional, within the website news feeds. To submit content to industry news, please email it to [email protected].

How long can my submission be?

There is no limit on content length for either Knowledge Center or  Industry News Feed submissions.

    Will you edit my submission?

We will not edit your submission. We may, however, ask for modifications to be made to remove promotional content or to clarify information.

Can I submit content that has been published elsewhere, or reuse this content once it has been published?

We accept both published and unpublished content. We ask that if the content has been published elsewhere to note the original publication for correct attribution. The goal of the Knowledge Center is to share any useful information surrounding mDLs in the U.S. and Canada.

How will my content be attributed?

We will attribute content to your company or the appropriate party.

Are there any additional priority areas?

We are interested in keeping our implementation tracker map up-to-date, with a current stage of implementation for each state/province/jurisdiction. If you can provide information regarding an mDL implementation status in the U.S. or Canada, it is appreciated.

We encourage professional video, animations, and infographics to support key concepts and use case demonstrations, and to support awareness and education. Like written content, all Knowledge Center submissions should be non-self-promotional and vendor-neutral, with the sole purpose to educate audiences on mDLs.

mDL Initiative members and non-member guests are active in multiple professional organizations supporting related mDL efforts. How might we highlight and bring visibility to these accomplishments?

We respect and collaborate across multiple community organizations and associations. If you have pertinent content from another organization, you may submit an abstract of the content with a link to the resource on the appropriate organizational website.
